Below is an alphabetical list of minerals. If you know the name of a mineral and want to learn more about it, clicking on the name will take you to a picture and a description. Names that are not linked are ones for which pictures/descriptions are not yet available.
Many of these minerals are closely associated with igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic rocks, and web sites on those rocks often link to these minerals. Therefore, for minerals closely associated with a specific rock group there are two headers on the page, the first back to minerals, the second to the rock pages the mineral is associated with.
