Hardness = 6 - 6.5;
Cleavage: none; brittle fracture
Crystals: cubes, with parallel striations     on faces; massive forms common
Color: pale yellow to brass-yellow
Streak: greenish black
Luster: metallic, shiny, often tarnished
Description
     "Fool's gold." This massive chunk illustrates some of the properties of pyrite. Color is pale brassy, on the right side can be seen corners of the cubic crystal shape; at the very lower right is a small crystal face (partly in shadow) with parallel striations, and in the same area the tarnish typical of pyrite is visible.
