The Supercontinent Pangaea in the Late Paleozoic
Pangaea was constructed in the late Paleozoic by the collision of Gondwana (Africa, South America, Antartica, India, Australia) with Larussia (North America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Siberia). The collision resulted in a number of orogenies, including the Alleghenian, its compliment on Africa the Mauritanid, the Ouachita, and the Hercynian (southern Europe but not shown on the map).
