Color and Luster: Yellow, orange, brown, yellowish gray, whitish; resinous, adamantine; streak white

Hardness: 3

Cleavage: Distinct, one direction

Fracture: Subconcoidal, uneven

Crystals: Triclinic, pseudo-tetragonal due to twinning; commonly square tabular, sometimes extremely thin, infrequently cube-like, also massive, coarse to fine granular
