To specimen #2 Return Most of the time in the field we do not see epidote crystals; instead they appear as masses of tiny to microscopic crystals - as they do in the two specimens here. Yellowish green (pistachio) to brownish black; glassy; hardness 6-7; long, slender, grooved, prismatic crystals, but often massive; perfect one direction cleavage lengthwise. |
