Fracture: Conchoidal, seldom observed
Crystals: Hexagonal; crystals commonly showing a rhombohedron, scalenohedron, and prism; also tabular, acicular, cleavable, granular, compact, stalactitic, oolitic, earthy; twinned crystals very common
