Sample Test #1  Evolutionary Theory

Key to Sample Test #1 >   Evol. chart for Test #1
This sample test reflects the subject matter the last time I taught the course, Spring 2003. For this semester I have completely rewritten this section on evolutionary theory - partly to shorten it, and partly to change the emphasis to ideas more germaine to our study of vertebrate evolution. Some of the questions deal with subjects we have studied, but many do not.

This sample test also contains two parts, the first on evolutionary theory, and the second dealing with the survey of vertebrate evolution. This semester these are being placed in separate tests so for the moment ignore that second part. It will be useful when we get around to studying that story of vertebrate evolution.

What is most important about this sample test is the way the questions are written and organized. For those of you unfamiliar with the way my tests are constructed it may seem strange at first. I will be happy to sit down with any of you and explain the procedures, but they are also explained in this sample test.
