    directions at 90o;
Shape: cubes, or cube combinations
    sometimes massive;
Color: silver gray to dark lead gray;
Streak: dark lead-gray;
Specific gravity: 7.4 - 7.6 - heavy !
Luster: metallic, shiny to dull
Hardness = 2.5;
Description
     This group of intergrown galena cubes shows well the mineral. The cleavage and crystal growth is perfect cubes (although they can be distorted).
     The dark gray metallic streak and high specific gravity are also diagnostic of galena.
