Shape: Long prismatic crystals
Color: bright to dark green, grayish green, black
Luster: vitreous (glassy), pearly, silky
Cleavage: two directions lengthwise
Description
     Actinolite is a metamorphic mineral often associated with chlorite and epidote in greenstone rocks. Usually it is intimately intermixed with these other minerals and hard to see. This is a relatively pure specimen showing the typical radiating prismatic crystal masses.
